Wired Network
A wired network allows computer networks to connect to the Internet or other networks using cables. To connect to the Internet or any other network you must have a cable to connect to your device and a router or modem. Unlike wireless networks, you have to keep the cable connected. Wired networks are able to give you the access moving data quickly and the security you need to maintain your computer privacy. Wired networks, unlike wireless network are faster and are more affordable.
Wireless Network
A wireless network is similar to a wired network. The difference between the two is that a wireless network does not need a wire or cable to connect to the internet or any other device or network. A wireless network is an advantage to many businesses. It is used almost everywhere. There are different types of wireless networks which are: Wireless PAN, Wireless LAN, Wireless mesh network, Wireless MAN, Wireless WAN, Cellular network and Global area network. Examples of wireless networks include cell phone networks, Wi-Fi local networks and terrestrial microwave networks.
Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth is a wireless technology. It is used to communicate with others. The Bluetooth technology allows you to communicate with someone even though there may be objects that can interrupt a phone call. It is based on radio waves. Although Bluetooth is an advantage to many, there is only one down fall to it, it can only range to thirty feet high. This may also be considered a good thing because it guarantees you of good security.
Network Cables
A network cable is a cable that allows you to connect to two network devices. Just like wireless networks, network cables can send signals from one point to another. There are several types of network cables that are used. Like, twisted pairs, fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, the patch cable and the Ethernet (crossover cable).
Input Devices and Output Devices
An input device and output device are not the same things but are similar to each other. An input device can be used to transfer data into any type of computational device. An output device also transfers data but in the form of a text, image, sound or other media while connected to a computer. An input device example would be keyboards and a mouse. And a output device example would be monitors and printers.
CPU- Central Processing Unit
CPU stands for central processing unit. The CPU is located inside of the computer. It is where most of the data is processed and is also the part of the computer where it interrupts and executes instructions. The two most common parts of the CPU is the ALU and the CU. The four steps to the operation of the CPU is fetch, decode, execute, and write back.
RAM-
RAM stands for random-access memory. The RAM allows you to keep storage inside of a computer. It also allows you to save and access data randomly. This is a very well used type of storage and memory that can be used on computers and devices like printers. There are two different types of RAM, DRAM and SRAM. All of these are used for the same thing but some are faster than the other.
ROM-
ROM stands for read-only memory. This is where you can find pre-recorded data on your computer. Once you have saved your information to a ROM, it can not be deleted and can only be read. When a computer is off the ROM is still retaining it contents. ROMs are most commonly found on devices like calculators and laser printers.
Operating Software
A Operating Software is also known as OS and Operating System. It is the most important program that is found on the computer. It is where the computer is told to do basic tasks to do stuff like recognizing input from the keyboard, sending output to the display screen, etc. It monitors activities that go on through the computer. A operating system also manages disks and files.
Application Software
Application Software is the computer software which allows you to use a variety of different tasks for your computer or other devices. Application Software is also called software application, application program, application and app. An application software can be divided into two different types of groups. Which are systems software and applications software. Application software is run under the operating systems.
Charles Babbage
Lady Lovelace (Lady Byron)
Lady Lovelace was known for math and writing skills on Charles Babbage. She had been the first to become a computer programmer.
Grace Hopper & Arpanet
Grace Hopper was not only a computer scientists but she was also part of the United States Navy. She was part of the few people who first started the idea of computer programming. She had also developed the first complier for the computer programming language. The Arpanet was a success in Hopper's history. The Arpanet stands for the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. It was founded in 1969.World Wide Web History
World Wide Web, also written as www. , is a system where you can connect to documents by the internet. You can also connect to these documents by hypertext links. HTML is the type of language that is used to identify these documents and where they were found. Most people confuse the World Wide Web for the internet but they are two different things. On the other hand, the web is run by the internet. The web allows you to view sites where you can find texts, images, videos, etc.
